Take a breath

If it isn’t obvious, I am very much a novice at this whole “blogging” thing. I wanted to start something that wasn’t just an outlet for me but to bring awareness to others, that we all have issues. We all have “stuff” happening. Maybe someone can relate or by me sharing will release some of the “stuff” I’ve been carrying around and be done with it once for all. Who knows.

So I consider my life pretty normal. I feel that people have lived more similar lives than they think. I guess that is the beautiful meaning of “Sonder effects”.

Ground zero…

Just when I thought I was doing a pretty good job on figuring things out, BAM, everything changed again. So I need to almost start over and re-evaluate again.  Life sure is funny.  Here I am trying to rediscover myself all the while trying to figure out what that means.  Here is what I do know, I know that I want to live a life that allows me to live more naturally, without chemicals, and getting back to enjoying the gifts from mother earth.  Cutting corners, eating badly, procrastinating are all things I’ve mastered, if I say so myself.  Now many years later I look back and realize that I’ve wasted SO much time.  So there isn’t a better time than the present, right.  How exactly does that work?  It starts at ground zero. My ground zero is to wake up each morning and tell God that I am thankful for him.  My higher spirit.  My light.  Can’t we all use a little more light in our lives.  The answer is YES.  Be kind to each other, no one really knows what someone else is going through.  Many of us have a different ground zero.

Stuff

My idea behind this blog is to have a place to be able to give my perspective on “stuff”, you know the variety of “stuff” that every single person goes through. It only makes sense, seeing that is where “Sonder Effects” come from.  We all go through stuff, things that can alter the moment, the week, 15 years or forever.  Just imagine the difference we could make if more people just took an extra minute to think about someone else and considered what “stuff” that person was going through before they reacted in a negative way?   Sonder Effects.

***stuff | Definition of stuff in English by Oxford Dictionaries

Definition of stuff – matter, material, articles, or activities of a specified or indeterminate kind that are being referred to, indicated, or implied,***

As I sit here reading back over what I’ve written, I am laughing to myself because there is a little bit of irony here, because 3 times now I have referred to a dictionary definition. My teachers would be so proud.  Those years will be mentioned at some point.  After all, some of that “stuff” definitely altered life as I knew it, forever.  It wasn’t only just the event that changed my life, but what people did following was the real event changer.
So I am planning to keep writing/blogging/journaling and praying that what I share has a positive impact on at least one person, even if that’s myself.   Love and Light

Are you a mind reader?

I think it is a fair assumption that most of us aren’t mind readers, right?  So why do we think we know what someone is going through just by looking at them?  Naturally, we feel like it is pretty easy to figure out what is happening at that moment by someone’s expression or actions.  Maybe or maybe not.  My point is more times than none, we won’t.  But that doesn’t stop us from reacting to them and being quick to come to a conclusion about someone just by looking at them. So if they have a stern, lost, confused, happy, surprised, mad or blank expression and that usually causes a reaction from us, a sondereffect.  So when I see a smile, I smile. If someone looks mad then I smile even bigger.  But if they look lost I may ask if I can help.  All of those reactions are from a single glance or look.  Amazing that we think we would know what they are thinking or going through.  Unless we talk and ask questions, we truly will not know what others are  going through.

What it means?

Sonder – “the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.” according the Urban Dictionary.  Effects – “is an ocurrence that follows, or that is caused by a previous ocurrence.”

As individuals we may never know the complexity of a passerby’s life.  We can guess, but chances are may never know.  But when you think of it, the effects that we will experience are unavoidable.  Say for instance, if a person smiles at you, you will probably smile in return.  If someone holds a door open for you,  you may hold a door open for someone else. But if that person doesn’t smile or allows the door to close in your face, how does that effect you? Doesn’t it effect your mood, it does mine.  I find myself allowing my moment, my day, my mood to be effected.   That brings us to – Sondereffects. What do I, we, do with our Sondereffects?
